Pace and overtaking galore for Duncan in Belgium
AutoGP – Spa, Belgium, 26-27 June 2010
Race 1: Qualified 6th, did not finish
Race 2: Reverse grid start position 15th, finished 9th
Duncan’s qualifying position didn’t reflect the pace he showed in the practice sessions where he had been consistently in the top three and his focus for the remaining races will be on getting more from the Michelin tyres to get back on top.
The first race was short-lived when an electrical problem ended Duncan’s race after just two of the 13 laps. Even in that short time Duncan had gained a place and was running in fifth.
With just ten laps in race two Duncan had to work hard starting from 14th. Throughout the race Duncan battled his way through the field and as he took the chequered flag he had gained five positions – no mean feat in identical cars.
Duncan: “As much as I love Spa it hasn’t been a good weekend for us in terms of results but yet again I’ve shown that I’ve got the pace and skill to overtake. Magny-Cours is in just two weeks so it isn’t long before I can get back on track – literally and figuratively!”
