Duncan Tappy dominates Time Attack at Donington
Duncan Tappy showed his versatility by excelling at his latest mission – taking a highly-tuned 600bhp Subaru Impreza to its limits at Donington Park yesterday. He set fastest times in the sessions throughout the days and finished the Time Attack Pro Superbattle final a staggering two seconds ahead of his nearest rival with a stunning lap in the last five minutes of the session.
Time Attack is a circuit based event where competitors drive hard against the clock to set the quickest lap time around a circuit. Teams and drivers are specifically invited with the pedigree to fight it out alongside the industries finest. Starting off in Japan, Time Attack, Super Lap and Tuner Battles were organised by the media as a proving ground to see the difference between street tuned cars, produced by the tuning industries most respected tuners. Duncan is driving in the four Pro Class events for the Autosportif team.
Duncan said: “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to drive something a bit different and the Autosportif car’s just great! I drove it once last year but it’s much quicker now and great to attack the track with.
“It was a bit slippery at times with snow and rain on and off over the weekend but nothing we couldn’t handle. It’s a bit like having a whole weekend qualifying so not only is it good fun it’s great practice too.”
